SilverIP is thrilled to be providing 175 E Delaware Place residents with Chicago’s fastest Internet. You will soon be able to enjoy Internet speeds up to 1 Gigabit (1,000 MBPS)!
We are committed to making installation as easy as possible for you.
In order to provide you with exceptional Internet speeds, we will be rewiring 175 E Delaware Place. Once rewired, we will be able to install gigabit Internet in your unit. You have a few installation options. Please download the PDF installation form, fill out the form, and drop it off at the management office at your earliest convenience. In-unit installation begins late April/early May 2018.
How do I schedule my unit’s installation?
To make the process as efficient as possible, we will be completing in-unit installations on a floor by floor basis. As we approach your floor, we will communicate to you when we will be completing your installation.
Will there be noise in the building during installation?
Prior to in-unit installation work you may hear some light noise due to the rewiring process. All work will be completed during normal business hours and we will strive to keep the noise to a minimum.
Who will be entering my unit?
SilverIP installers escorted by building staff.
How long will you be in my unit?
Approximately 1 hr. In rare circumstances that may take longer depending on unit-specific circumstances.
Do I need a new router?
Any store-bought ethernet router will work. We will also provide you with recommendations.
Will I have to pay anything?
If you already have a wireless router, there are multiple options that will cost you nothing. Depending on the option you choose for your in-unit installation, you may need to pay for additional installation work or hardware. We will provide you with a cost estimate before completing any work that necessitates a charge.
How can I test my Internet service's speed after I'm connected?
Please visit speedtest.googlefiber.net and press the blue “play” button to test your connection speed. Keep in mind that there are many factors that effect your connection’s speed. Be sure that your computer’s network card and Internet router are capable of reaching your service’s speed. Do not have unnecessary apps or programs open when running the speed test and, if possible, connect to your router using an ethernet capable instead of a wireless connection. The placement of your router in your home can effect your WiFi signal as well (See our blog article for more information.)
